Unified communications software as a service (UCaaS) provider BroadSoft, has acquired cloud-based contact centre software business Transera. The acquisition fills a gap in BroadSoft’s portfolio and gives it a shoe-in to the fast-growing Contact Centre as a Service (CCaaS) market as well as a passport into Gartner’s visionary quadrant for CCaaS – the California-based business is marked as “Visionary” in the 2015 Magic Quadrant for Contact Center as a Service for North America.
The 2015 premise contact centre market represents a large $3.3 billion opportunity according to an October 2015 MZA market forecast and it’s one that BroadSoft is keen to exploit as the firms CEO, Michael Tessler, explains. “The multi-billion dollar contact centre market is ripe for cloud disruption, and we now offer service providers a single stack solution with the flexibility to scale from SMB to large enterprise.” Although initial revenues will be small, in 2016, BroadSoft expect the acquisition to contribute approximately $7-8 million in revenue.
BroadSoft will be spinning Transera in to its BroadWorks and BroadCloud solutions to create a single solution that wraps hosted PBX, unified communications, omni-channel contact centre, and network transport into one.
